El principal objetivo del proyecto SAURON es el diseño, implementación y verificación de un sistema distribuido de monitorización y análisis de parámetros de calidad, a diferentes niveles de la red de difusión, preparado para su funcionamiento en un escenario de convergencia broadcast/celular (ATSC 3.0/5G Broadcast). De este modo, se sentarán las bases para que la red de difusión avance hacia los paradigmas establecidos para las redes 5G y beyond 5G (más allá del 5G), para las cuales se plantea conseguir redes autónomas, predictivas y adaptables al entorno a través de sistemas de monitorización avanzada, detección de anomalías, predicción y técnicas de automatización y abstracción en el plano de gestión de red. El papel de Gradiant se centra en el diseño, implementación y verificación de la algoritmia.
