EMULSION

This project aims at developing the modulator and demodulator of a digital communications system for mobile devices such as cellular phones, PDAs or vehicular terminals. The developed system will enable applications such as multimedia content broadcasting, messaging services or real-time emergency services. In order to achieve sufficient robustness and adequate levels of coverage, this system will use a hybrid scheme, combining satellite communications on S-band with a terrestrial gap-filler network similar to that used for DTT broadcasting. This combination will involve an effective improvement in current satellite communications, extending them to mobile scenarios such as trains or automobiles.
